Garland can be beautiful, but it can also be quite pricey, not to mention hard to find other than come Christmas time. Making your own decorations can be a simple and budget-friendly solution to any decor-drama. Choose 3-5 ribbon spools of alike or different colors and cut strands about 5-6 inches until the spools are out. Take a roll of hemp and measure it from point to point on where you’re planning on hanging it; cut accordingly, then, with the ribbons of your choice, begin tying them on the hemp, switching between every other color, making sure to tie the knots close enough together, but not so close they’re touching. Continue until your whole, cut hemp-line is filled with tied ribbons. You can also try this on strands of twinkle lights. Isn’t is pretty?
